Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital is offering year-long, rotating internships. The internship program is designed to provide graduate veterinarians knowledge and experience that will prepare them for clinical practice or a residency program. The Wisconsin Equine Clinic offers hospital (including surgery, internal medicine and emergency medicine), ambulatory and reproductive experiences with special emphasis on providing each intern with mentors in every area of veterinary medicine.
Interns rotate in two week blocks between hospital, reproduction and ambulatory services. Interns are responsible for management of in- hospital cases, anesthesia for emergency cases, participation in ambulatory cases and emergency duty. The interns assume increasing case management, client communication, and solo ambulatory responsibilities throughout the year.
We strongly encourage prospective interns to do an externship at our clinic to determine if it would be a good fit for both parties; however, it is not required. We require three letters of reference, a letter of application/intent from the applicant with CV, graduation from an AVMA accredited program, a valid Wisconsin and Illinois veterinary license by the start date of employment, and a valid driver's license.
Interested students are encouraged to contact one of our program coordinators, Dr. Tasha Likavec at firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. It is recommended to get your applications in as soon as possible.
