Madera Ranchos Equine Clinic is a very busy one veterinarian practice in the central valley. This area has a large number of horses and not enough veterinarians. I have been running a solo practice (currently about 75% in clinic and 25% ambulatory) for more than 25 years and I have more work than I can handle. I would like to hire a veterinarian that would become a partner in the practice.
This is a general practice with a variety of horse breeds and disciplines. I do a lot of brood mare work, some sport horse work, a lot of preventive care (vaccinations, dentistry), and a variety of illnesses and injuries. An excellent farrier is on site one day every week. The clinic has stocks, a lawn for surgeries, stalls and pens, a round pen, and a large arena. I have a good ultrasound machine, good wireless digital xray machine, small portable endoscope, power dental tools, and an electrochemotherapy unit. I have a vet tech/office manager and another person that handles the stall cleaning.
I can be very flexible with scheduling and want to make sure that we both get plenty of time off and opportunity to pursue areas of interest.
This area has a lot of advantages: warm weather, friendly people, minimal traffic and a relatively low cost of living.
