A great interest and proficiency in reproduction is optimal for this position. The applicant should be more than comfortable and competent with all other aspects of equine practice - preventative and emergency medicine, dentistry, pre-purchase and lameness exams. Abilities in chiropractic, acupuncture, rehabilitation and ultrasonography will not be wasted in this practice. As needed and requested, guidance is readily available.
Salary will be based on experience. Compensation bonus scenarios to discuss can be derived from various sources; out-of-hours / emergency work, individual production, practice profitability are examples. Full health care is provided at no cost to provincial residents. General and liability insurance coverage is provided. Continuing education funds are available. Work scheduling can be creative - daytime / evenings / weekends - and dynamic to best suit changes in the veterinarian's and practice's needs. Individuals interested in being involved with practice management and ownership transitioning are welcome.
