The Equine Clinic at Oakencroft treats a wide variety of patients from our homecare geriatrics to pleasure horse to high level performance. Our goal is to provide our interns with comprehensive practical experience to become a successful equine practitioner. We provide extensive hands-on experience and a veterinary staff with a wide variety of interests to help guide our future practitioners.
During the initial training period, our interns work directly with staff veterinarians in an ambulatory and in-hospital setting. As skills develop, the interns will being to take on primary case responsibility under the supervision of our veterinary staff. The interns are responsible for in-hospital patient care.
We are located in the capital region of upstate NY centered between the Adirondacks, the Catskills, the Berkshires and outdoor areas of Vermont. Great location for an outdoor enthusiast!
DVM or equivalent degree, CV, letter of intent, completion of NAVLE by end of academic year, 3 letters of recommendation, veterinary licensure in NY and MA states by start of internship, valid drivers license, externship experience at our practice is highly recommended. We will gladly accept applications from prospective interns that were unable to visit due to Covid-19 restrictions.
