Our growing equine-exclusive veterinary practice is seeking an associate veterinarian to join our team. We are a multi-doctor practice offering a hospital location with well-equipped surgical suite, in-house laboratory, stocks and endoscopy (1m and 3m). Our wireless DR system, ultrasounds, dental equipment and shockwave unit are available for both in-hospital and mobile appointments. All ambulatory vehicles are fully stocked to provide current methods for diagnostics and treatment such as StableLab and IRAP.
Iron Horse Equine is a progressive practice dedicated to providing our patients and clients with high quality medicine in a collaborative, team environment. Each doctor is provided with a veterinary technician/assistant for regular appointments and our office is staffed with a full time receptionist. We genuinely value work-life balance, offering a 4-day work week and emergency on-call schedule shared between 3 doctors.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable in multiple facets of general practice, but we also encourage the development of special interests. Self-motivation, exceptional communication and technical skills, and the desire to continue building our established practice are key to success in this position. Although not mandatory, an applicant with theriogenology interest will be given special consideration in order to expand our reproduction services. Experience is preferred, however new graduates are also welcome to apply.
Compensation Package: Salary is based on experience as part of competitive compensation package. Additional benefits include health and professional liability insurance, licensure fees, AVMA and AAEP memberships, CE stipend, paid vacation and sick time, as well as emergency/hospitalization bonuses.
Location: Iron Horse Equine Medical & Surgical Services is located in Elizabeth, Colorado. This rural community is in the heart of Colorado’s horse country, ideally situated 20 minutes from the Colorado Horse Park and less than an hour from Denver. The Front Range boasts endless recreational and metro area opportunities.
