Central Georgia Equine Services, Inc., has an opening for an associate equine veterinarian.
The clinic is located approximately 100 miles south of Atlanta, GA. The practice is 30% ambulatory, 30% haul-in and 30% hospitalized cases. We offer an extensive array of reproductive services including semen collection and freezing, breeding with fresh cooled and frozen semen and foaling services that utilize a FoalAlert system and camera coverage. We utilize our hospital for the medical care of colic cases, medical cases and minor surgeries. We are equipped to provide PRP and IRAP treatments, plasma and blood transfusions. Our in-house laboratory allows us to have complete blood counts, chemistry analysis, IgG quantification and Serum Amyloid A readings in minutes. The practice is equipped with digital radiography, 1 meter wireless endoscopy, gastroscopy and ultrasound featuring 4 probe options. We utilize Powerfloat systems, an oral endoscope and a variety of specialized forceps and elevators to provide optimal dental care to our patients.
Located in central Georgia we benefit from a stable economic climate due to our location adjacent to Robins Air Force Base. The practice is based on the “Family Horse” where the bulk of our patients are literally part of the family and our clients expect the best possible care for their horse. We offer care to all disciplines and see a wide variety of horses including barrel racing, western pleasure, trail riding, hunter-jumper, eventing, dressage, miniature horses and the occasional donkey. Our motto is “We treat every horse as if it were our very own”. As a two doctor practice we are a close-knit group where cases are routinely reviewed and treated as a group effort. Mentorship is primary here.
We are conveniently located 12 miles from the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter which hosts some of the nation’s largest equine events. Nearby Macon, Ga offers an extensive selection of shopping, restaurants and cultural events throughout the year. Lake Blackshear, Lake Sinclair and Lake Tobesofkee are short drives away.
The associate will have the use of a fully stocked truck with a Bowie unit and a veterinary assistant. We utilize computerized medical records. We are seeking a candidate who is team-oriented, has superb communication skills, and has a desire to provide excellent customer service and patient care. Experienced or new graduates will be considered. The associate will be working with all equine disciplines and breeds. Equine experience is required. The associate will see a wide variety of cases including preventive health care, lameness, neonatal and breeding cases, sick horses and emergency cases. The associate will have the opportunity to grow the business and focus on their area of interest due to our diverse caseload. Emergency duty is shared by both clinicians on a rotating schedule.
We are looking for a long term member to join our team. We are blessed with incredible clientele and staff. We enjoy what we do and have a good time while doing it.
