Equine Services is seeking a skilled, motivated, team player who strives to practice high level medicine in a fast paced, progressive practice. We are a full-service hospital and ambulatory practice that is focused on delivering the highest quality medical, surgical, lameness and reproductive services to our clients. We are located just outside of Louisville, Kentucky and service a wide variety of clientele from miniature horses to pulling Belgians, with the majority of our patients being Saddlebred show horses.
We are looking to add 1-2 full time ambulatory veterinarians to our current team that consists of 3 full time veterinarians, 1 part time associate veterinarian, and 2 intern veterinarians. We are searching for well rounded associate veterinarians that are comfortable with all aspect of practice. The associate must be comfortable and willing to perform reproductive work. However, there is room for the associate to grow business and focus on their area of interest as we have a very diverse case load. The associate veterinarian must also be willing to handle hospitalized cases with mentorship and case oversight available as needed. Emergency call is shared amongst veterinarians.
We provide all veterinarians with a fully stocked practice vehicle and they have access to every diagnostic tool that one could ever want. You have the ability to follow your cases from on the farm to referral to the hospital when needed for medical, surgical, or advanced lameness diagnostics. Each ambulatory veterinarian has access to ultrasound with repro and tendon probes, access to abdominal probe is shared; multiple Cuattro imaging units, endoscopy (1m and 3m) available at clinic and on ambulatory base, and power dental floats. Advanced imaging options of thermal imaging, Nuclear Scintigraphy and MRI are available at the clinic. We also house a full clinical laboratory, a full reproductive laboratory, and in house pharmacy. Advanced lameness treatments with Stem Cells, IRAP, shockwave, magnawave and Artemis laser are available.
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience; health insurance; association dues (AVMA, AAEP, KVMA); professional liability; and continuing education benefits provided.
Candidates must be willing and excited to work in a collaborative environment where case responsibilities and ambulatory calls are shared. We function as a team at Equine Services and associate must be willing to contribute to the team environment. They must be willing to mentor and work with intern doctors and veterinary student externs to create a positive learning experience. Strong communication skills with staff and clients is a must. Must be passionate about equine veterinary medicine and have a strong desire to practice high level quality medicine with a desire to continually improve on their skills. All veterinarians are expected to work on all cases including assistance with surgery, anesthesia, farm calls, in hospital cases, and reproductive cases.
