Iowa State University's Lloyd Veterinary Hospital has an immediate need for a confident, caring, and results-driven Veterinary Operations Manager to join our team. The Veterinary Operations Manager plays a vital role in the hospital by handling the day-to-day operations of the hospital in order for the staff to provide the best level of veterinary care and education to our customers and students.
As a Veterinary Operations Manager:-You will mentor, develop and lead a mix of hourly and professional support team members and provide the foundation for our specialty veterinary services to excel in their roles in patient care and teaching.-Support the Director of Hospital in all operational aspects of our Veterinary Teaching Hospital.-You will serve as a liaison with Facilities, Public Safety, and other areas of the college or hospital as needed.
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and attributes:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Superb organizational skills & able to multitask and prioritize duties• The ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results• Ability to calmly and effectively handle stressful situations• Understanding of veterinary terminology, equipment, and treatment protocols • Knowledge of Veterinary Medical Board, OSHA, and DEA regulations
This position will be hired as a Program Coordinator II or Program Coordinator III.
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
