Working in a well-equipped University teaching equine clinic, with access to a range of modern equipment and fully equipped vehicles for off site visits, you will provide a range of high-quality equine or mixed animal veterinary services to the local community. You will contribute to clinical teaching and supervision of final-year students by involving them in clinical case management, providing additional learning opportunities where appropriate and demonstrating the highest standard of clinical and professional behavior.
This position will suit an enthusiastic, team-oriented veterinarian with a passion for equine or mixed animal medicine. You will be supported by a highly experienced management team, skilled animal technicians and you will be working as part of a clinical team along with support from a group of experienced academics, specialists and pathologists. This will be an opportunity for you to deliver high quality veterinary services to the community while also making an important contribution to the clinical education of the next generation of veterinarians.
Veterinary services offered by the Equine Centre includes general care and preventative health services, diagnostic and surgical procedures. This position also contributes to the emergency after hour’s service on-call roster on weeknights and weekends.
The EHPC is situated on the University’s picturesque Roseworthy Campus, approximately 9km from the township of Gawler and on the doorstep of the world-renowned Barossa Valley wine region. With the local schools, restaurants and amenities of Gawler, a relaxed lifestyle and affordable housing, but only an hour from the CBD of Adelaide, the location offers the best of both worlds.
On-call and overtime allowances apply for participation in after-hours on-call roster in accordance with University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement.
