Plans, organizes, directs, and administers all animal health programs and administrative activities within the Laredo Region Office, located in the city of Laredo. Counties to be covered are Terrell, Val Verde, Kinney, Maverick, Dimmit, Webb, Zapata, Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy, and Cameron counties. The Laredo Region Office will work collaboratively with USDA APHIS partners.

Education and Experience:
The TAHC is an emergency response agency. The Region Director position plays a key role in the agency’s emergency management activities. As a first responder, this position is subject to participate in rotating temporary duty assignments away from the regular designated headquarters for up to two weeks at a time. This duty may involve working in adverse conditions; may require irregular working hours and overtime; and, may include duties other than those specified in the standard position description.
NOTE: Position requires driving to duty points within and outside the Laredo Region using personal vehicle. Mileage reimbursed at current rate set by Comptroller of Public Accounts.
Must have valid Texas driver's license and safe driving record. Employment of the selected candidate is contingent upon the receipt of an acceptable Moving Violation Record (MVR) from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
