Immediate opening for an equine veterinary technician or equine veterinary assistant. Previous vet assistant of 7 years left to apply to vet school. Dunlap Equine is a busy ambulatory practice covering W. TN, N. MS and E. AR for equine emergencies, routine health care and lameness diagnostics. Equipment includes Powerfloat, digital radiography, digital ultrasound, digital gastroscopy and upper airway endoscopy. We also work with several horse rescues providing routine daily care and emergency response in a cruelty situation with a full cache of rescue equipment including a Rescue Glide, an Anderson sling and a fully outfitted rescue transport rig.
The position is full time and involves horse handling, jogging horses for lameness workups, keeping ambulatory truck stocked and clean, entering data into Avimark business management software and Globalvetlink for coggins and health certificates and client communication.
Very competitive salary, overtime, CE paid for and 2 weeks paid vacation.
Must be a horse person and be very comfortable around horses. Must be physically able to jog horses, work in all weather conditions and able to multitask.
