TD Equine Veterinary Group (http://tdequinevet.com) offers an ambulatory based position with a focus on performance horse health and complete care of the equine athlete. The practice is located just south of Calgary, Alberta (http://www.visitcalgary.com/; https://www.travelalberta.com/ca/and is closely involved with international horse venues including Spruce Meadows, Rocky Mountain Show Jumping and the Calgary Polo Club (https://sprucemeadows.com/tournament_index.jsp; http://rmsj.ca; http://www.calgarypoloclub.com).
Our practice will give you exposure in a number of athletic disciplines including western performance, hunter/jumper, polo and dressage horses. We have veterinarians on staff that are board certified in surgery and sports medicine/rehabilitation. This position will provide mentorship for less experienced associates if required. We strongly encourage candidates that have interest in in chiropractic, acupuncture, podiatry and imaging. The successful candidates time will be spent performing lameness diagnostics, treatments, rehabilitation programs, dentistry, preventative health care, pre-purchase examinations, emergency medicine and a smaller component of theriogenology.
The practice is part of the distributed veterinary learning community (DVLC) of the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (http://www.vet.ucalgary.ca). Board certified veterinary specialists within that veterinary school program are accessible and participate in our practice.
