Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center has an immediate opening for an associate veterinarian. We are in search of a dedicated, hard-working team player with a passion for horses and veterinary medicine. Cases range from ambulatory care of the equine athlete, lameness exams, and preventative medicine to in hospital medical and surgical cases and emergency care. The horse population in Las Vegas is very diverse. You will have the opportunity to work on everything from the backyard pleasure horse to horses performing in dressage, jumping, cutting, endurance, racing, and rodeo. The clinic has been proud to serve as the official veterinarian for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo since coming to Las Vegas in 1985. The practice also has responsibilities to many large shows throughout the year including Pacific Coast Cutting Association Core Balance Derby Classic/Challenge, Longines Jumping World Cup Las Vegas, and NCHA Mercuria World Series of Cutting Las Vegas and the NBHA Supershow to name a few. Emergency duties are shared on a rotational basis. Typically, each veterinarian takes emergency call 1 night a week and one weekend a month. Successful candidates will be supplied a clinic vehicle for professional use as well as having a full time veterinary assistant to help with daytime appointments. Experience with sports medicine, alternative therapies, internal medicine or surgical training is beneficial but not required. The clinic has a competitive compensation package (medical, liability, CE, licensing, retirement, professional dues, moving expenses and vacation). Please send a letter of intent and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. If there are any questions, please feel free to call Dr. Wyatt Winchell or Dr. Leslie Schur @ 702-645-2247.
