The Veterinary Hospital at the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Clinical Veterinarian in Equine Emergency.
Responsibilities: Scheduling emergency duty and performing emergency duty Wednesday and Thursday nights 4pm-8am, and Friday evening 4 pm until Monday morning 8 am for 40-50 weeks of the year. Admits and is responsible for all emergency cases while on duty. Teaches students and residents emergency procedures while on the emergency service. Attends and contributes to daily student and resident rounds. Assisting with team-taught courses such as Equine Primary Care, Equine Lameness and Imaging, and Equine Field Skills.

Qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree and board eligibility for the American College of Veterinary Surgery required.
In addition, experience managing large animals independently on an emergency basis, including medical, intraoperative, and postoperative care. Eligibility for veterinary licensure (or faculty certificate) in North Carolina also required.
Candidates must be enthusiastic about emergency medicine and have prior relevant equine referral emergency medicine and surgery experience.
