The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences provides world-class, outcome-based education and training of animal and veterinary scientists in a research environment, based at the Roseworthy Campus, 50km north of the Adelaide CBD and minutes from Gawler.
The School has excellent facilities developed for its veterinary program including an outstanding Companion Animal Health Centre, Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and a new Equine Health and Performance Centre which currently offers hospital-based services, in addition to the ambulatory service. A number of experienced and well qualified equine clinical academic staff are in place, including specialist internists, surgeons, theriogenologists, an equine sports medicine clinician and ambulatory team providing general practice services.
We are seeking a Veterinarian who is eligible to register in South Australia to practise as an equine intern in support of the specialist clinicians and first opinion practitioners in the equine hospital. The intern will also assist in the training of students through practical classes and clinical service delivery. The intern will work closely with members of the specialist team on both referral and first opinion cases such that this internship will provide an excellent opportunity for the development of strong equine clinical skills.
To be considered for this position you will be expected to demonstrate a strong interest in equine clinical practice through your undergraduate training and, if appropriate, through your post-graduate clinical work.
We have 2 full time, fixed term positions available for one year.
Salary: (Level A) $65,894 - $89,425 per annum.
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.
