The College of Veterinary Medicine and The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University are seeking an experienced veterinary anaesthetist/clinical academic to provide clinical teaching within The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University. The successful candidate will combine small group teaching with the delivery of a small number of lectures and practical classes into our AVMA-accredited programme. The individual will also support the clinical anaesthesia service within our state-of-the-art hospital facility. This is the opportunity for a veterinarian focused on the pursuit of excellence in patient care, evidence-based practice and teaching, to develop their personal and professional goals within a highly supportive and expert environment while enjoying the dream destination of Western Australia.
The preferred candidate will join an experienced anaesthesia team including two European Board-certified Diplomats and an American Board-certified Diplomat. These senior anaesthetists are supported by two Assistants in veterinary anaesthesia, three nurses (dedicated solely the veterinary anaesthesia section) and three trainees in veterinary anaesthesia. The anaesthesia section provides clinical service to a team of specialists in small animal and equine surgery, small animal and equine medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, production animal medicine and a 24 hour-a-day emergency/ICU.

We have put together an attractive salary package, which includes 17% superannuation. Eligible applicants will be board-certified (e.g. Dip ECVIM-CA, Dip ACVIM, FANZCVS), have previous teaching experience, and have a veterinary degree that is registrable with the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board in Western Australia.
