The New Jersey Equine Clinic is a referral equine clinic specializing in surgery, sports medicine, lameness, and selective ambulatory services. Interns will also have an opportunity to rotate through a secondary private practice ambulatory equine practice.
Interns are responsible for daily patient care of hospitalized patients, and work directly under the supervision of senior staff veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of horses admitted to the clinic or seen as outpatients. Interns will also gain hands on experience performing lameness examinations, diagnostic anesthesia, general anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Interns will be exposed to a variety of patients and clients that will allow further development of diagnostic, technical, analytical, and communication skills to prepare them for future careers in academia or ambulatory or referral private practices.
The compensation package includes an annual salary, 1 week of paid vacation, professional liability insurance, health insurance, NJ state veterinary licensing fees, and compensation for 1 continuing education meeting.
Applicants must be a graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary school and eligible for employment in the United States as well as for licensure in the state of New Jersey.
Interested applicants should submit a CV, a letter of intent, and 3 letters of recommendation to Dr. Jennifer Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org
