Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) located in Wooster, OH is accepting applications for a nine month, tenure track faculty position in Equine Science/Animal Science
Primary responsibilities: position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching technical courses in equine science (e.g. introduction to horse science, nutrition, judging/evaluation, equine sales preparation and marketing, facilities maintenance/management, and racehorse training/conditioning); preparing students for careers in the operation, management and ownership of horse farms, employment within related agri-businesses or transition to Bachelor's Degree programs in Animal Sciences; advising students (academic, club, judging team); recruiting students; developing course and program curriculum; working closely with the ATI equine faculty and farm staff; developing working relationships with industries relevant to equine programs; engaging in a focused program of scholarly activity resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentations; participating in professional development activities; providing service/leadership to the Institute, University, industry, and state, regional, and national professional organizations.

Qualifications: The preferred minimum qualification for this position is a Ph.D. in animal or equine science or a closely related field; or a DVM with equine experience; or master’s degree and at least 5 years of equine industry experience. The successful candidate must be a team player and have strong evidence of teaching ability and industry experience. Interest and/or experience in harness racing/Standardbreds is desired.
