Buffalo Equine has an internship available for 2017-2018. We are looking for a candidate that is looking for a well-rounded experience with the desire to become a skilled general equine practitioner. For the right candidate, there exists the possibility to transition to a full time associate in 2018.
We are committed to providing a positive internship experience while developing the skills and confidence needed to succeed in equine practice. You will gain experience in all areas of general equine practice including preventative care, dentistry, sports medicine/lameness, reproduction, and emergency care. Our intern will be expected to participate in rounds discussions and periodically present cases to other staff veterinarians. You will be asked to contribute client educational materials for newsletters, social media, and client education meetings. We will provide the opportunity for our intern to work concurrently with our established veterinarians and transition to independent routine and emergency practice duties.
Our intern will work Monday to Friday regular practice hours, 2-3 weeknights per week on-call, 2 full weekends per month on-call, and one partial weekend per month on call.
Time off includes one afternoon per week, one 3 day weekend per month, 7 days paid vacation, 3 paid personal days.
Buffalo Equine will pay for PLIT and AAEP dues.
