Position available in John R. Steele and Associates for motivated, enthusiastic veterinarian looking to work on high end sport horses. If you are a hard-worker with initiative, have a passion for working on show horses, like to be outdoors, and seek variety in the daily schedule, this is for you. Initially, we would be working together daily, traveling to calls to examine and treat patients. In this position you will advance your sports medicine practice, interpretting the nuances of lameness and working on FEI show horses. We utilize digital xray, Sonosite ultrasounds, Neovet shockwave, Prostride, PRP, IRAP, advanced injection techniques such as the hip, neck, SI, and arterial stem cell perfusions. You will become proficient in all these techniques and build relationships with the best horses, owners, trainers, and farriers in the business.
Ideal candidate has completed an internship and would live or relocate to NJ close to NYC. Most of the year is spent working in the Northeast: NY, NJ, CT (mid-April to December). During the winter, residency in Wellington FL is required. We will be in FL from January until mid April. Most important traits are horse sense, a great work ethic, ability to lift heavy things, and desire to give clients incredible service.
