The spring equine internship at Pacific Crest Equine is a 12 month program beginning January 2018 which will involve participation in all aspects of equine medicine; including lameness, reproduction, surgery, dentistry, emergency care, and preventative care. The internship will focus on providing hospital and ambulatory based services while learning through case work-ups. Our interns are an integral part of the practice and will work closely with doctors, staff, techs and clients. We accept two interns for 12 month periods, one beginning in January and the other in June.
The intern will work with the senior veterinarians in providing care for elective cases, hospitalized cases, and after-hours emergency care. The intern will be trained in equine anesthesia and will be responsible for anesthesia of elective and emergency cases on a rotational basis with other doctors. Other duties include assisting in extern orientation and supervision, and instruction and participation in rounds. More specific information is outlined below:
