Ambulatory intern needed for full service referral equine hospital, with state-of the-art facilities and equipment, located in central Florida with 24 veterinarians (12 ambulatory vets). The successful candidate can expect to spend approximately six weeks on rotation with our ambulatory clinicians. During this time they become familiar with the area and our core clientele. It also provides time for intensive instruction and a period of mentoring; and allows time for interns to learn the administrative part of our business: submission of lab work, billing, fee schedules, standard examination forms, etc.
Once this introductory period is over, the candidate will be expected to practice independently (with the guidance of our established veterinarians), and will be set up with their own vehicle, equipment, supplies, etc. He/she will also be asked to assist and become involved in “more interesting”, challenging or unusual cases or procedures, and be required to attend a series of practice wet labs during the internship.
We seek an energetic, team-oriented Intern who is eager to help grow the practice. Must have excellent communication and people skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to provide exceptional client service. The successful applicant will possess a DVM or equivalent and eligibility for licensure in Florida.
