Rustebakke Veterinary Service is seeking to expand its equine and large animal service offerings with an additional full time associate veterinarian.
Rustebakke Veterinary Service is a 4 doctor practice located in south east Washington on the Idaho Washington border, and 35 miles north of the Oregon border. Our modern facility, built in 2009, is home to 4 doctors with access to wireless digital radiology (capable for in house or ambulatory use), diagnostic and reproductive ultrasound (including equine and bovine reproductive ultrasound), Idexx in-house laboratory, therapeutic laser, and dental radiology (small animal). Our practice offers clients 24-hour on call emergency service. Emergency on-call duties (mixed animal) and Saturday hours are rotated among associate veterinarians.
The associate veterinarian will join the team with the goal of maintaining our current level of service, and expansion of services. Currently our large animal services include approximately 80% equine, varying from performance horses to pasture pets, 15% bovine (primarily cow/calf), with the remainder composed of a variety of small ruminant and other food animal species. Time permitting, you will also have the opportunity to work in our AAHA approved small animal clinic.a
The Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, home to Rustebakke Veterinary Service, is located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers. Immediate access to excellent fishing, hunting, boating, rafting, hiking, snowmobiling, and more is available. We sit within an hour of two major universities, a local state college, and a community college. The community is semi-rural, but offers many amenities and surrounding small communities.
Compensation for a large animal associate depends on experience. We offer a pro-sal compensation model. Benefits include a stipend for CE, vacation time, and sick leave (earned annually). The right candidate will have potential for practice buy in as well.
DVM or equivalent, able to acquire Washington and Idaho veterinary licenses.
