Job Description
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is seeking an Associate Chief Examining Veterinarian to join its team.
The Associate Chief Examining Veterinarian will be responsible for examining horses which are scheduled to race, administering Lasix and taking blood gas samples. In addition to race-day duties, the qualified candidate must also exhibit strong judgment, leadership potential and the ability to assist the Chief Examining Veterinarian in daily supervisory and administrative tasks.

Qualified candidates should have at least three to five years experience in equine practice and must hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree. Familiarity with thoroughbred or standardbred racing and industry protocols is a plus. This position requires working on site at all three NYRA tracks during live race meets: Aqueduct Race Track, Belmont Park, and Saratoga Race Course.
